This role sits within a thriving Community Development team and is central to delivering complex land development and municipal infrastructure projects from early planning through to construction. You'll be backed by a local team of 25+ professionals and a broader sector of 50+ community development experts.
This is a permanent, hybrid opportunity based in Edmonton or Calgary, AB.

The Role
As Project Manager, you'll take full ownership of land, municipal, and site development projects across the complete lifecycle from conceptual design and approvals through detailed design and construction delivery. You'll manage multidisciplinary teams, build lasting client and municipal relationships, and play a meaningful role in mentoring the next generation of engineers and technologists.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery

  • Lead land, municipal, and site development projects through all phases: conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design, approvals, and construction
  • Manage design of site grading, utility servicing, roadways, pedestrian networks, utility coordination, and stormwater management
  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage development applications and approvals including Area Structure Plans, Outline Plans, Development Permits, Development Agreements, and Building Permits
Client & Municipal Engagement
  • Liaise with municipal review teams and approval authorities to support timely, coordinated approvals
  • Manage client communication proactively including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and expectations
  • Support tendering and construction delivery including contractor coordination, RFI responses, and progress payment certification
Team Leadership
  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams, internal disciplines, subconsultants, and field services
  • Complete quality control reviews ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with municipal and internal standards
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and technologists

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); registered as a P.Eng. or P.Tech. with APEGA, or eligible for immediate registration
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in land development and municipal infrastructure
  • Proven track record leading projects from concept through detailed design and construction
  • Demonstrated experience managing development approvals and applications
  • Strong project management fundamentals: scope, schedule, budget, risk, and team leadership
  • Established relationships with developers, municipalities, and land development partners in Alberta
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking approach and genuine interest in mentoring others
