Your Role in Shaping the Future of Video Streaming

Position Type : Full-Time, Permanent

Location : Vancouver, BC (Hybrid - 1 day remote per week)

What You’ll Do :

As a Java Backend Development Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the backend architecture of our OTT Video SaaS platform. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as you will guide and mentor a team of developers, driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance BitKernel’s global reach and provide seamless video experiences for users around the world.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and Collaborate : Lead a team of developers in building and optimizing server-side logic using Kotlin and Java.
• Architectural Design : Design and implement scalable, microservices architectures.
• Integration : Integrate user-facing elements with backend services, working closely with front-end developers.
• Code Optimization : Develop reusable code libraries and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Data Management : Implement and maintain data storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Code Reviews : Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold quality standards and foster a cohesive development environment.
• Mentorship : Mentor and coach junior engineers, promoting a learning-focused team culture.
• Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to enhance performance and reliability.
• Innovation : Stay at the forefront of industry trends, bringing innovative ideas to our platform.

Note : This position is full-time based in Vancouver, BC, so we are only considering those based locally and eligible to work in Canada.

The Pay Range for This Role Is :

140,000 - 180,000 CAD per year
