Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field such as Public Health, Health Promotion or Social Work and a minimum of five (5) years' recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory experience in a complex, multi-union environment. Experience working with marginalized populations and with community resources is required.

Demonstrates all LEADS Capabilities, in particular:

  • Engages Others/Empathy - communicates effectively: listens with heart rather than reacting

  • Develops Coalitions/Building a Trust-Based Relationship - builds partnership and networks to create results, demonstrates a commitment to customers and service, participating in open exchanges of experiences and culture
  • System Transformation/Credible Champion - demonstrates systems/critical thinking, strategically oriented to the future, champions & orchestrates change, remains self-aware and maintains effective relationships, shows courage and conviction in advocating for change for the betterment of Indigenous people.

Skills And Abilities

  • Eligible for registration with the appropriate professional body.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation and government policies as related to harm reduction services.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated program development skills.
  • Ability to administer, oversee and coordinate the delivery of contracted community health services.
  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and multiple community agencies.
  • Ability to provide group leadership, facilitate professional development, facilitate change and perform needs assessments and program evaluations.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize own work.
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Ability to work with computer technology at a sophisticated level.
  • Extensive travel is a requirement of the position.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
