Paladin Security is Hiring a Senior Duty Security Officer!

Location: Whitby, ON, CA
Schedule: Continental Rotation (0700–1900 / 1900–0700)
Pay Rate: $23.91 – $25.38/hour (Based on Levelling System)
Employment Type: Full Time
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Overview

As a Senior Duty Security Officer at Ontario Shores, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff. This position involves a combination of proactive patrols, emergency response, report writing, and coordination with site staff to maintain hospital safety standards. This role requires a high level of professionalism, customer service, and the ability to respond quickly in critical situations.

Responsibilities

• Work assigned 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive patrols and incident response.
• Ensure all standing orders and daily scheduled activities are completed as required for each shift.
• Enforce Paladin Security and hospital security policies and procedures.
• Plan and implement shift work schedules.
• Write detailed incident and occurrence reports.
• Respond to coded emergencies efficiently and professionally.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all individuals, including those under stress or in medical need.
• Maintain strong situational awareness and physical readiness to stand or walk for extended periods.

Requirements

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• COVID-19 Vaccine (two doses)
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
• N95 Mask Fit requirement
• English fluency (oral and written) is a must
• Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare security role
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) required (Applicants lacking these certifications may enroll in Paladin’s UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding) Note: The UOF/MOAB certification training is unpaid but fully covered by Paladin, with a 6-month commitment to the position
