Job description

Job description

HireArt is helping a global leader in AI development find a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join its team.

In this role, you’ll support day-to-day corporate accounting operations, assist with the month-end close process, and help implement systems and processes that support scalable growth. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The ideal candidate thrives in a startup environment, is detail-oriented, and has strong interpersonal and communication skills. You demonstrate the ability to build scalable cross-functional relationships through systems and process improvements.

As a Senior Accountant, you'll:
  • Prepare journal entries and support day-to-day corporate accounting activities while assisting with the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate, and U.S. GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
  • Build or enhance balance sheet account reconciliation workpapers, including reviewing and cleaning up historical reconciliations and related balances.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on metrics, flux analysis, forecasts, and projections, and support preparation of the monthly reporting package.
  • Prepare documentation supporting internal and external audits and help ensure successful completion of audit requirements.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes to streamline close processes and build scalable accounting solutions.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce close timelines.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls related to assigned accounting areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; a combination of public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred) and industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end and year-end close processes
  • Experience supporting financial audit preparation
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; project management experience is a plus

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Direct accounting experience in one or more of the following areas: accruals, investments, internally developed software, ASC 842 leases, cloud computing arrangements, stock-based compensation, consolidation, or foreign currency accounting
  • Experience with SQL and financial systems such as NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, or Jira

Benefits:
  • PTO
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, 6-month contract position staffed via HireArt. The role is hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thur onsite; Wed, Fri remote) and open to candidates local to the San Francisco, CA area.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
