Job descriptionWe are seeking a visionary Senior Cloud Architect to join a leading Canadian financial services and technology innovator. In this role, you will be a cornerstone of our digital evolution, bridging the gap between sophisticated enterprise architecture and the cutting-edge requirements of Artificial Intelligence. You will design secure, resilient, and highly scalable cloud and hybrid environments that serve as the bedrock for GenAI platforms, advanced data analytics, and rapid architectural experimentation.
Advantages
Innovation-First Culture: Work at the forefront of AI and Quantum computing integration.
Long-Term Stability: Initial 1-year contract with a very high likelihood of a 1-year extension.
Flexible Environment: Collaborative professional atmosphere with a focus on modern agile delivery.
Professional Growth: Engagement with diverse multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, and Azure).
Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Define and implement robust cloud foundations specifically tailored to support intensive AI and GenAI workloads.
Strategic Migration: Lead the transition of legacy systems into modern hybrid or full-cloud models, reducing technical debt.
Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between centralized departments (Finance, Legal, HR) and specialized engineering teams to ensure architectural compliance.
Optimization: Ensure all cloud designs are cost-effective, operationally sound, and meet rigorous enterprise security standards.
Future-Proofing: Integrate emerging technologies, including Quantum Cryptography and AI components, into standard design patterns.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Cloud Mastery: Proven experience architecting and operating within AWS and GCP environments. Proficiency in Azure is considered a significant asset.
AI/Emerging Tech: Demonstrated experience designing infrastructure for AI workloads; knowledge of Quantum Computing or Quantum Cryptography is highly preferred.
Professional Experience: 5+ years in IT design, with at least 3 years specifically focused on public cloud architecture and large-scale migrations.
Agile Mindset: Deep understanding of APIs, middleware, and data platform integration within an Agile framework.
Language: Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred for our Montreal hub.
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
Summary
Location: Montreal, QC (Preferred) or Toronto, ON.
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Renewable).
Role Type: Senior Cloud Architect.
Industry: Financial Services / Technology.
