About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Category Manager to join our dynamic Procurement team.

The Category Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing supporting a key business area or spend category, such as Medical Equipment & Supplies, Laboratory Testing, Pharmaceutical, IT, Professional Services, Logistics, or Facilities . This involves all aspects of the strategic sourcing process including developing a high level of knowledge of current state and possible evolution of assigned commodity, working with internal clients to develop RFP specifications that will bring the best options and value to Canadian Blood Services, managing RFP process, and leading cross functional negotiations with suppliers.

The Category Manager will also develop and monitor compliance with procurement policies and procedures, including those with respect to managing the relationship with the supplier. The Category Manager creates compiles and files all documentation needed in keeping with Canadian Blood Services records management policies.
