Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an Accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or in its absence, experience will be considered. Evidence of CSMLS certification may be required, Experience performing macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis testing. Strong Phlebotomy skills. Proven interpersonal oral and written communications skills are required. Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, Interdisciplinary team members, personnel from other departments, and leadership in a fast-paced, and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Candidate must be well organized and flexible. Must participate in continual Professional Development. Must be able to represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the past two years: Work in Healthcare facility. Phlebotomy, venipuncture and micropuncture. Connect Care. Maintenance on: Clinitek Advantus, Centrifuges. Cleaning the fridges and freezers.
