Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a cross-functional project delivery team supporting the design and implementation of user-centric digital solutions. In this role, you will bridge product strategy, user experience design, and technical delivery by translating complex business requirements into clear product backlogs, user journeys, wireframes, and functional specifications. Working in an Agile environment alongside Product Owners, UI/UX designers, developers, and external vendors, you will advocate for design best practices, lead stakeholder consultations, manage backlog prioritization, and ensure digital products adhere to strict web usability and accessibility standards.

Location: North York, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 8-month contract.

Responsibilities
Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of business and functional requirements within a cross-functional Agile environment.

Collaborate with balanced product teams to design simple, intuitive, accessible, and responsive user experiences for complex web applications.

Manage, groom, and prioritize product backlogs, authoring user epics, themes, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

Conduct stakeholder consultations, user interviews, and research activities to translate user insights into personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes.

Ensure digital solutions comply with web accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A & AA) and digital government design standards.

Define product key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics dashboards, and feature prioritization strategies to support continuous delivery cycles.

Facilitate client workshops, present options decks to leadership, and produce executive status reports detailing project risks and mitigation plans.

Support development and QA teams during testing cycles, test case reviews, defect log management, and user acceptance testing (UAT).



Qualifications
Business Analysis Seniority: Minimum 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex IT and digital transformation projects (Strictly Required).

UX & Digital Product Design: Significant, hands-on experience designing online user experiences, wireframes, and user journeys for complex digital platforms (Strictly Required).

Agile & Scrum Delivery: Proven track record delivering products within balanced Agile (Scrum) teams, managing product backlogs in JIRA or Azure DevOps (Scrum Master experience is preferred) (Strictly Required).

Cloud Platform Awareness: Basic working knowledge of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform (Strictly Required).

Collaboration & Backlog Tools: Hands-on experience with collaboration tools (Miro, Confluence, Trello, M365, Teams) and backlog management platforms (Jira, Azure DevOps) (Strictly Required).

Accessibility & Web Standards: Solid understanding of web usability principles and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A & AA).
