Job description

We are seeking an experienced Machine Labourer to join our team. This is a vital, hands-on position where your expertise in warehousing will directly ensure the efficiency and accuracy of our daily distribution. Advantages

  • Pay : $18 and $25 per hour.
  • Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7am-3 : 30pm
  • Location : Scarborough, ON (transit accessible)
  • Work Type : Contract with potential to turn permanent

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sand, and mask varied surfaces (like motors and chassis) to ensure they are ready for a high-quality paint finish.
  • Operate industrial sandblasters to remove rust, grease, old paint, and dirt from metal parts.
  • Manage air pressure and grit flow to effectively clean parts without damaging the metal underneath.
  • Refill abrasive materials in hoppers and monitor levels to keep the cleaning process running smoothly.
  • Manually lift and position heavy equipment onto racks or into blasting cabinets using safe lifting techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning equipment and swapping out worn nozzles.
  • Keep the work area organized and immediately report any safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Assist with general labor and other tasks as needed to help the manufacturing and logistics teams.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in metal finishing or sandblasting.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs regularly.
  • Dedication to completing tasks safely and following all safety standards and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
