Job Summary: The Program Worker – Client Liaison plays an important role in supporting the delivery of community-based programs and services that promote the health, well-being, and independence of older adults. This position is responsible for coordinating Momiji's Congregate Dining Program while supporting additional Community Services, including Transportation, Friendly Visiting, and community engagement initiatives.

Working closely with clients, volunteers, staff, and community partners, the Program Worker – Client Liaison ensures programs are delivered safely, efficiently, and with a person- and family-centred approach. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented individual who enjoys building relationships and making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors.

Working Hours: Momiji operates seven days per week. This is a full-time, onsite position working 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be required for occasional evenings and/or weekends to support programs, events, and/or operational needs.

Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy (1-year temporary contract).

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of Momiji's Congregate Dining Program, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Assist clients in accessing Community Services, including Meal Programs, Transportation Services, Friendly Visiting, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate transportation services by scheduling appointments, communicating with clients, volunteers, and staff, and responding to changing service needs.
  • Support the planning and delivery of special dining events and community programs.
  • Supervise dining and driving volunteers while fostering a positive volunteer experience.
  • Process monthly meal orders, maintain accurate client records, and liaise with external food service providers.
  • Prepare client communications and introduce new clients to Momiji's dining and community services.
  • Collaborate with Finance to prepare client invoices, collect payments, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Monitor program statistics, maintain program databases, and assist with reporting and evaluation activities.
  • Promote a person- and family-centred approach in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families, volunteers, community partners, and internal departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Social Services, Gerontology, Community Development, or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in program coordination, client services, administrative support, or a similar role; preferably within a non-profit organization.
  • Experience working with seniors is preferred.
  • Current CPR and Emergency First Aid certification.
  • Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Japanese language skills are considered an asset.
