Operations Procurement Specialist to support plant operations and maintenance activities for a leading organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the
timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of maintenance, repair, operating (MRO), and direct materials.
Acting as a key procurement partner, you will collaborate closely with
Maintenance, Operations, and Finance teams to maintain operational continuity, optimize inventory, and drive effective supplier management across multiple facilities.
- Pay Rate: up to $90,000/annually
- Location: Edmonton, ON (on-site)
- Shift: Monday to Friday

Responsibilities: Procurement & Inventory Management - Procure MRO and direct materials in alignment with cost, service, and compliance standards
- Manage purchase orders, inventory levels, and daily MRP activities within SAP
- Source and manage suppliers for plant-specific materials such as lubricants, specialty fluids, and pallets
Supplier & Contract Management - Evaluate vendor quotes and manage supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics
- Ensure compliance with national agreements and preferred supplier programs
- Resolve issues related to purchasing, receiving, and invoicing in collaboration with internal teams and vendors
Maintenance & Operations Support - Partner with Maintenance teams to establish and maintain spare parts inventory levels
- Conduct critical spare parts assessments and coordinate sourcing across sites
- Support plant operations by ensuring material availability and minimizing downtime
Systems, Controls & Financial Coordination - Maintain accurate procurement and vendor data in SAP and COUPA systems
- Support financial processes and help resolve accounts payable discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to procure-to-pay processes and SOX compliance requirements
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience in manufacturing plant sourcing and procurement
- Hands-on experience with SAP procurement systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) certification or equivalent
- Experience with COUPA or similar procurement platforms
- Strong understanding of inventory optimization and plant operations support
- Detail-oriented with strong data accuracy and system management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Results-driven with a focus on cost optimization and operational efficiency
- Commitment to compliance, process integrity, and continuous improvement
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
