Tomlinson is looking for a310T Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of vehicles.
Job location : 5597 Power Road, Ottawa, ON
Shift : Evening shift (1PM-11PM)
Vacancy : Replacement
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair
Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
Test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance
Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
Some field work is required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of secondary school is usually required
Hold a 310T Heavy Truck / Coach License, or level 3 apprentice
Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel diagnosis and repair
Experience with routine / preventative maintenance operations
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Climbing, bending, crouching, lifting
- Working in an environment with loud noises such as running trucks, air breaks, horns, power tools, etc.
- Working both indoors and outdoors
COMPENSATION INFORMATION :
The expected hourly rate range for this position is $28-45 / hr. Placement within the range is dependant on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
