Job Summary
Windsor Salt Ltd. is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team at our Ojibway Mine location. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all surface maintenance and underground maintenance activities at the Ojibway Salt Mine. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of mobile equipment, fixed plant, electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure systems. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Operations, Engineering, and Health & Safety teams to maximize equipment availability, support production targets, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of preventative and corrective maintenance programs
- Develop short- and long-term maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Manage maintenance budgets, forecasting, and cost control
- Analyze maintenance KPIs and implement reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Oversee maintenance of underground and surface mobile equipment (loaders, trucks, scalers, utility vehicles, etc.)
- Manage maintenance of fixed plant systems, including conveyors, crushers, hoists, ventilation systems, pumps, and compressors
- Ensure compliance with electrical, mechanical, and structural standards on both surface and in an underground mining environment
- Oversee major shutdowns, rebuilds, and contractor-led maintenance projects
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned with Windsor Salt and Ontario mining regulations
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act best practices and company policies
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to proper lock-out/tag-out, ground control awareness, and confined space procedures through frequent auditing
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors, tradespeople, and planners
- Oversee training, certification, and skills development for maintenance staff
- Ensure workforce scheduling supports site production and maintenance needs
- Utilize SAP to track work orders, asset history, and spare parts inventory
- Jointly plan and agree on maintenance priorities with the Production Manager to minimize production impacts
- Work closely with Engineering on equipment upgrades, capital projects, and reliability improvements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required
Minimum 7–10 years of industrial maintenance experience in underground mining or a heavy industry Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams Strong knowledge of mobile mining equipment and fixed plant systems Familiarity with CMMS platforms and maintenance planning best practices -
Preferred
Red Seal Electrician – Industrial (309A) or Construction and Maintenance (442A) Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) Experience in underground salt, potash, or hard-rock mining Supervisory or management certification Experience managing unionized workforces Knowledge of Ontario mining legislation and regulatory requirements -

The expected annual compensation for this position is $128,350 - $173,650. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
