THE OPPORTUNITY
Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Civil Project Coordinator on behalf of our client, a general contractor currently delivering an infrastructure project in Richmond and Delta, BC.
Our client is known for investing in their people — they take pride in training and mentoring employees at every stage of their career, believing that their team is their greatest asset. This is a company where you're set up to grow, not just hired to execute.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine overall project requirements — including bonding, insurance, and associated risk factors
- Plan, schedule, set objectives, and control activities during the construction phase, working closely with the Site Superintendent
- Manage the project schedule with flexibility and adaptability, ensuring changes are implemented as the project demands
- Communicate and uphold company policies and procedures with internal staff and all external parties
- Handle full project administration — resolving issues, scheduling, shop drawing control, invoice approval, progress claims, and maintaining project files
- Manage the preparation and monitoring of quality control documentation
- Serve as the information link between the Site Superintendent and the corporate office
WHAT YOU BRING
- Engineering degree, diploma, or related education with a background working for a General Contractor
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience as a civil construction Project Coordinator
- Experience with construction accounting and project management software (e.g. Explorer, HCSS)
- Proficient in MS Office — Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with AutoCAD or other design software is an asset
- Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach
- Valid BC Driver's License
- Comfortable working autonomously on-site while maintaining clear communication with the broader team
