About The Role
Mahler Machining is hiring a Receiving Coordinator to handle material receiving and rough stock preparation prior to production. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, candidates will be responsible for operating an automated horizontal bandsaw to cut raw material to size in accordance with work instructions. As an AS9100 aerospace‑certified manufacturer, Mahler takes material traceability seriously. The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for physically and digitally maintaining material documentation in our ERP system to ensure 100% traceability. This role requires strong coordination with machinists and our purchasing department, so strong interpersonal skills are required. The Receiving Coordinator plays a vital role in our organization as a supply chain partner for over 100 Canadian and US OEM customers, operating in a highly dynamic environment. Candidates must be comfortable adapting to changing priorities throughout the day and working collaboratively with the broader team. The Receiving Coordinator can expect to spend approximately two‑thirds of their time receiving raw material and operating the horizontal bandsaw, with the remaining one‑third supporting other shop needs. This role is ideal for candidates seeking a stable long‑term career with a growing company that offers strong leadership, a supportive culture, and opportunities for advancement. As Mahler continues to expand, candidates will have opportunities to pursue roles in our office, shipping department, or production.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive material and deliveries against vendor purchase orders in our digital ERP system verifying material specifications against purchase order requirements.
- Scan material certification documents and packing slips into the ERP system.
- Regular operation of an automated horizontal bandsaw to cut material to size prior to CNC machining.
- Occasional operation of other equipment including a vertical bandsaw and cold saw.
- Maintain a clean and organized saw room, including raw material for active work orders and general stock.
- Move raw material around the shop to required locations for production.
- Assist the shipping department with packaging orders for customer delivery when needed.
- Assist the finishing department with post‑machining handwork when needed.
- Drive the company vehicle for customer deliveries and pickups when required.
- Participate in basic equipment maintenance and general shop support.
- With training, cover the Shipping Manager role occasionally (vacations, illnesses), including preparing shipping documents and arranging courier deliveries.
