The BC First Nations Forestry Council invites you to join our mission to support Indigenous leadership and advance participation in British Columbia’s forestry sector.
Reporting to the Business Program Manager, the Business Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing the Forestry Council’s mission to support British Columbia First Nations in identifying, accessing, navigating, and developing business opportunities within the forest sector. This role is integral to fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with the Forestry Council's strategic plan, providing a clear understanding of each opportunity’s current status and future trajectory.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in bridging stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, and fostering partnerships that drive meaningful progress in the forestry sector. Among the responsibilities of the role are :
Administration & Reporting : Maintain the Opportunity Register, document and update progress, and report regularly to management and stakeholders. Create and manage an Opportunity Toolkit, including best practices, templates, and resources to support opportunity identification, evaluation, and execution. Maintain accurate and high-quality business account and contact data in the customer relationship management system, ensuring all development opportunities are documented. Organize meetings, events, records, and correspondence related to opportunity initiatives. Coordinate consultations, workshops, and engagement sessions to ensure meaningful First Nations participation.
Communications : Track action items from meetings and communicate risks, updates, and progress to stakeholders. Collaborate to ensure opportunities benefit both businesses and First Nations communities. Foster trust and positive relationships with First Nations communities, ensuring their perspectives and interests are central to all opportunity development.
