Job description$26 to $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Oversee and continually improve the company’s HSE program, including COR certification compliance. Lead new worker orientations and coordinate safety training programs (WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, etc.). Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits. Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring full compliance with WorkSafeBC and internal documentation standards. Liaise with JOSH Committee for all health and safety concerns across the company. Develop and implement customized site-specific safety plans. Monitor and report on key metrics, including Total Recordable Incident Frequency (TRIF). Keep all safety records up to date : SDS, incident reports, training logs, and more. Ensure safety signage, emergency equipment, and first aid systems are current and functional. Serve as the point of contact for all health and safety concerns across the company. Support our return-to-work program and liaise with WorkSafeBC as needed. Stay current on evolving legislation, standards, and best practices. Provide occasional admin support to Superintendents and Project Managers. High school diploma required; post-secondary education is a plus. Occupational Health & Safety certification (or willingness to obtain it). Experience in a similar safety-focused role is an asset. Familiarity of WorkSafeBC regulations and COR standards preferred. Advanced First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it). Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset. Experience with digital safety platforms like SiteDocs or SafetySync is a big plus. Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential matters. You’ll oversee safety policies, training, compliance, and day-to-day health and safety needs—ensuring every site and worker is protected.
