As I return back to work, we are seeking a nanny to look after our son and help manage our household. We expect this will require approx. 8-10 hours per day from Monday to Friday.
Primary responsibility would be to care for and play with our son. Secondary responsibilities include minor pet care (letting the dog out to the backyard), meal prep for our son while you watch him, light housekeeping, and meal prep (lunch and dinner) for my husband and I.
We would likely start part time in June, transitioning to full time at the end of June and through July and August. We are unsure of whether we will proceed with a nanny past August or if our son will go to daycare.
We are seeking a nanny who is :
- warm and kind
- patient
- creative and fun
- promotes healthy habits
- has knowledge of child development
- is reliable and organized
- has good judgment
- nice-to-have : knowledge of ASL
Our son is an easy going and social baby. Some of his favourite things to do are :
- interact with other adults
- play peek-a-boo
- sing songs and learn sign language
- dance
- individually examine ‘touch and feel’ books
- go out on errands and walks (he generally likes being in the stroller)
He was born deaf and now wears cochlear implants. We are continuing to expose him to both spoken English and ASL in hopes he will learn both. The management of the implants is not too onerous from a caregiver perspective (similar to hearing aids).
We look forward to hearing from you!
