Job description

Analyzing Regulatory Records with Accuracy and Insight

Contract – approx. 6 months

CPA Ontario is currently seeking a Records Specialist who will play a central role within the Data Team in the Registrar's Office, supporting regulatory information for more than 105,000 members, 8,000 firms and 4,000 license holders. This role contributes directly to data analysis, reporting, system enhancements and process improvement, leveraging emerging technologies such as Power BI and Microsoft Co-Pilot to drive efficiency and insight across the department.

What You'll Be Doing:

Driving innovation in the management of regulatory information, including information about our members and employers, while supervising temporary data staff and applying critical thinking to ensure accuracy, confidentiality and a positive member experience.

Championing continuous improvement including testing and validating Salesforce enhancements, recommending new functionality and helping shape a smoother, more efficient admissions and records experience.

Contributing to and leading projects that support organizational initiatives, partnering with developers on system enhancements, documenting business needs, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring ongoing process improvement across the team.

Developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards for the Registrar's Office using coding and Co-Pilot, and providing ongoing and ad-hoc reporting with meaningful data analysis to support data-driven decision making.

Supporting others within the team and department on technical issues within scope of the role, while confidently applying emerging technologies such as Microsoft Co-Pilot.

Who You Are:

A university graduate in a related field such as data analytics, computer science, statistics, business or economics, with at least 3 years of related professional work experience, preferably within a professional, academic, membership or regulatory body.

A strong critical thinker with excellent analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail, particularly in handling confidential member data.

Highly organized and confident supervising junior staff, managing competing priorities and delivering accurate results in a fast-paced environment.

Experienced in producing easy-to-interpret data visualizations that lead to data-driven decision making, with familiarity in coding languages for data analysis considered an asset.

Skilled in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including members, executives and cross-functional partners, with experience training or supervising junior staff considered an asset.

Familiar with system testing, requirements gathering, and identifying and documenting enhancements, with additional certificates or training in Power BI, Databricks, Excel, Salesforce or similar tools considered an asset.

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this position is between $66,300 and $82,900 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
