The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) Level 3 is responsible for safely training new hires on effectively executing trouble shooting equipment repairs and is responsible for planning and coordinating department preventive maintenance duties for the maintenance team.
Responsible to manage spare parts inventory to maximize equipment up time to meet the customer expectation of on time delivery of a quality product.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Conducts machinery preventive maintenance inspections and troubleshooting repairs guiding all shifts; reports equipment performance effectively to team members for seamless shift handover.
Trains new hires on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of problematic equipment, communicates with internal and external OEM teams efficiently and effectively.
Obtains, prepares and coordinates technical data for training programs of new and existing equipment to ensure safety, quality and overall efficiencies.
Manages and orders spare parts; aligning preventive maintenance activities and break down frequencies to spare parts inventories.
Analyzes equipment failures, makes recommendations for improved effectiveness of preventative maintenance tasks for improved equipment uptime.
Communicates effective preventative machinery practices with colleagues, operators, leads, supervisors and management, making recommendations of continuous improvements ideas for equipment longevity.
Creates a team-oriented environment communicating and prioritizing departmental workflow to comply with management, quality and production objectives.
Evaluates the frequency of preventative maintenance activities to align customer demands to equipment needs.
Ensure constant communication between all mechanics for continuous improvement of cost, equipment functionality producing top quality products.
Equipment installations and removals using safe rigging procedures.
Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
Excellent analytical, decision making, people and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Performs additional facilities related tasks as directed.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
A minimum of 4 years’ of relevant work experience as a mechanic millwright or similar position in the ophthalmic industry or relevant industry, including experience in training new hires in conducting machinery preventive maintenance inspections and troubleshooting repairs.
Post-secondary education in industry machinery repair, millwrighting, engineering or similar discipline.
433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright license or equivalent licence is preferred.
Strong knowledge and troubleshooting of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics encompassing automated systems.
Ability to read technical manuals, electrical / hydraulic schematics and ladder logic diagrams to understand equipment and controls operations.
Proficient in computer, including experience with Windows10, Microsoft office, and SAP.
Ability to interface at multiple levels and operate within cross functional teams.
Strong written and communication skills.
Experience with automation integration and troubleshooting.
PLC programing knowledge and trouble shooting.
Highly self-motivated, committed team-player with the desire to learn.
Valid G driver’s license in Ontario with a clean driving record or ability to obtain a Canadian drive licence within 6 months of employment.

This is equivalent to $66,560 to $83,200 per year, based on 40 hours per week.
