The role of the Digital Activation Director is to lead the tactical strategy, negotiation and implementation of success digital and broadcast campaigns.
The objective of the role is to harness the aggregate power of all broadcast and digital spend within Omnicom to create leverage in the market, driving savings and efficiencies and ultimately making smarter, more effective media investments on behalf of our clients.
The position requires strong working relationships with the executive leadership team as well as senior management across all Omnicom agencies.

Client Engagement :

Accountability :
- Manage all operations within team to ensure strategic objectives are achieved through tactical execution.
- Lead the accountability practice and collaborate with client teams and global accountability peers to deliver against client performance KPI’s and contractual agreements.
- Ongoing monitoring and management of media costs while exceeding performance and viewability goals.
- As a Director, you are ultimately responsible for campaign success, and take a hands-on’ approach with your team
Financial Management :
- Responsible for financial management of all accounts within the group
- Strong attention to detail and comprehensive financial oversight
- Understands the tools and applications used in order to effectively support the team at all levels
- Strong negotiation skills to get the most value for media investment
- Strong understanding of corporate deals and how to leverage media value
- Assist in the negotiation and management of rate agreements, as required
People Management :
- Experience leading complex technical teams
- 5+ years of managing a team with several direct reports.
- Matrix reporting experience an asset.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the overarching, high level business objectives and work collaboratively to achieve those objectives for our clients.
- Train and mentor team to provide high-level insight and analysis in relation to campaign performance
- Motivate team members to produce media work of the highest calibre and foster a productive work environment

Media / Business Acumen :
- Strong understanding of investment market conditions (e.g. ownership changes, program performance, share of tuning, inventory supply and demand) and deploy those insights against investment strategy and negotiations
- Identify and help develop automation opportunities to improve efficiencies and provide more robust data insights
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and ability to coach others in shortcuts
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, is an asset.
- Experience working with large data sets and understanding of methodologies for evaluating data.
- Demonstrates confidence in analyzing and acting on marketing data
Your Responsibilities
- Ensuring the implementation of process and efficiency for all online and offline procedures
- Overseeing and directing the day to day operations of Online and Offline Activation
- Providing inputs and guidance around activation strategy, including requirements for success and optimal use of data
- Identify areas for improvement and implement new process and procedures accordingly.
- Facilitate information gathering of client needs across all clients and all agencies in order to identify value opportunities, client requirements, and other intelligence to inform the negotiation process
- Lead and develop employees based on role KPIs in conjunction with best practices, standard operations procedures and guidance from Centre of Excellent Capabilities Group.
- Working side-by-side with Strategy / Client Account team to ensure tight coordination of campaign setup, adjustments and optimization performance is efficient and effective.
- Working with Strategy / Client Account and Marketing Science team to understand goals, address client needs, and communicate results and insights back to clients.
- Implementing standard operating procedures, ensure adherence to best practices across group, and deploy new capabilities (e.
g., new supply & data sources, new media measurement techniques, etc.).
- Active participation in new business projects
- High level understanding of programmatic platforms
- Providing subject matter expertise to vendors, internal teams, and clients.
- Manage relationship with all key senior partner agency personnel
- Build and maintain relationships with high level stakeholders both internally and with our vendor partners.
- Accountability for providing tactical insight into client business

- Oversee training and mentoring of Associate Director level down
- Understanding client marketplace dynamics (economic, sales, competitive, consumer)
- Ensure utilization of PHD Research Tools in plan development
- Preparation and presentation of reports and strategic analyses to clients
- In depth knowledge of all media offline and online

Key Qualifications
- University or College education in advertising, marketing, communication or other relevant related fields
- 10+ years of experience in media buying or related fields
- 6+ years’ experience in personnel management and team supervision including supervision of managers (middle management)
- Perfect mastery of the digital and traditional media ecosystem
- Advanced understanding of media research tools. Demonstrated knowledge with Numeris, Google Analytics, Adwords, and ComScore
- Extensive knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Software
- Proficient mathematical capabilities
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, ambitious and be comfortable with training others
- Proven excellence in media negotiations.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
