They will be responsible for leading a team engaged in testing common platform components, including operating systems, drivers, microservices framework, and microservices. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, a commitment to ensuring the highest quality standards, and above all, a learner mindset.Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team of testing professionals to ensure the quality and reliability of platform components.
• Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies and plans for operating systems, drivers, microservices framework, and microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and operations to define testing requirements and deliverables.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts and tools.
• Ensure thorough documentation of test cases, test results, and bug reports.
• Monitor and report on testing progress, quality metrics, and key performance indicators.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the testing team.
• Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and career development opportunities.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing.Qualifications
• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of operating systems, drivers, microservices architectures, and microservices frameworks.
• Proven experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms and technologies.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.Salary RangeThe salary range for this role in Ottawa is $136, 000 - $217, 200Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
