Senior Technical Project Manager (Application Migration)

Overview

A leading organization is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead a large-scale application migration initiative, transitioning systems from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019.

This role requires a strong technical project management background, with hands-on experience delivering application-focused migration projects (not purely infrastructure). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the ability to work across both application and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of application migration initiatives
• Manage the migration of enterprise applications across server environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and infrastructure
• Engage stakeholders and ensure alignment across business and technical teams
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies throughout the project
• Ensure project delivery aligns with timelines, scope, and quality expectations

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager leading application migration projects
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
• Experience working with Windows Server upgrades and Microsoft Azure environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong project management fundamentals, including planning, execution, and governance
• PMP certification or equivalent

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Exposure to infrastructure concepts and enterprise environments
• Familiarity with cloud migration or modernization initiatives
