Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Database Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure projects and ensure systems meet strict security and compliance standards . This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys delivering secure, scalable IT solutions.
  • Pay Rate: $44.00 - $51.00 (based on experience)
  • Location: Ajax, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 12-month contract

Responsibilities:
  • Implement and support IT infrastructure to meet security and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, CMMC, internal security requirements)
  • Participate in infrastructure projects including deployment of new technologies and systems
  • Build, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (VMware, Windows, Linux)
  • Support network infrastructure including Cisco networks, Wi-Fi, and firewall configurations
  • Perform server migrations (on-prem to cloud) and provision cloud-based solutions (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS)
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and firmware
  • Ensure proper logging, monitoring, auditing, and backup configurations
  • Provide Level 2 support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
  • Support Linux/Unix environments (SUSE, AIX, HP-UX)
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate processes and improve efficiency
  • Create technical documentation including architecture diagrams, procedures, and runbooks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in IT infrastructure, systems, and network administration
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), VMware, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP)
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Nessus)
  • Experience with IT security standards and compliance frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, or equivalent
  • Experience leading IT infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of Citrix or enterprise systems
  • Must be able to obtain required security clearance (NATO level)
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
