Job description
Our client, a prominent organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a Data Security Analyst to join a multidisciplinary expertise team within their IT delivery division.

In this strategic role, you will provide advisory and delivery support to various software development squads. The mandate blends application security access management, risk governance, and project coordination. You will serve as the primary expert for ensuring secure access models throughout the application lifecycle while also stepping in to act as a backup Project Manager when operational needs arise.

This is a long-term contract ending on March 31, 2027. The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring you to be on-site at the Vancouver office at least twice a month.

Advantages
Secure a long-term contract extending well over a year within a highly stable industry.

Enjoy a flexible hybrid schedule with minimal office commuting required in Vancouver.

Take on a unique dual role that blends technical security governance with project management responsibilities.

Act as a critical liaison between software engineering, enterprise architecture, and corporate security teams.

Responsibilities
Act as the subject matter expert for security access management across various business applications.

Analyze and validate access models, roles, and permissions in close collaboration with developers and database administrators.

Ensure all access management practices strictly adhere to corporate security standards and regulatory requirements.

Identify and maintain a comprehensive inventory of security, operational, and delivery risks.

Drive the prioritization of risk mitigation activities alongside technical teams and business stakeholders.

Keep risk registers and all supporting documentation meticulously up to date.

Provide planning and analysis support to help development squads structure their work and manage dependencies.

Serve as the primary coordination point between software engineering, architecture, and IT operations.

Step in to assume project management responsibilities during absences or peak delivery periods.

Oversee project documentation, status reporting, and overall delivery tracking to maintain corporate governance standards.

Qualifications
Extensive experience as an IT Analyst with a strong focus on application governance and security access management.

Deep understanding of identity and access management concepts alongside broader cybersecurity principles.

Proven track record of coordinating complex initiatives across multiple software development or delivery teams.

Demonstrated capability in risk identification, documentation, and the execution of mitigation strategies.

Hands-on experience supporting project management activities with the ability to lead projects autonomously when required.

Exceptional analytical skills combined with extreme rigor in documentation.

Complete fluency in English is an absolute requirement for this Vancouver-based role.

Summary
We are looking for a versatile Data Security Analyst who excels in identity and access management, risk tracking, and project coordination. If you are ready to take on a highly strategic hybrid mandate in Vancouver offering stability until 2027, this opportunity is perfectly suited for you.
