Job description
We are currently seeking a dedicated Shipper/Receiver to join a specialized, close-knit team in the manufacturing & logistics sector. As a Shipper/Receiver, you will be the heartbeat of the warehouse, ensuring that every order is handled with precision and care. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a "hands-on" environment where no two days are the same. In this small shop setting, your versatility is your greatest asset; when the shipping docks are quiet, you’ll pivot to support the team in other areas, ensuring the entire operation runs smoothly.

As a Shipper/Receiver in Brantford, you will manage the flow of goods, maintain inventory accuracy, and utilize your strong computer skills to navigate shipping software and Excel. We are looking for a reliable team player who takes pride in their work—from the first inspection of an incoming order to the final label on a departing package. This position offers a competitive starting rate of $21 per hour, with a guaranteed increase to $22 per hour once you are successfully hired on permanently.

Advantages
• Competitive pay starting at $21 per hour, increasing to $22 per hour upon permanent hire.
• Consistent day shift schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Opportunity to work with a global leader in manufacturing & logistics through Randstad.
• Small team environment where your contributions are highly visible and valued.
• Weekly pay via direct deposit while working through Randstad.
• Access to specialized training and professional development through our expert recruiters.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate all daily shipping and receiving activities within the manufacturing & logistics facility.
• Inspect incoming orders meticulously against packing slips to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Prepare items for shipment by packaging, sealing, and labeling goods according to company standards.
• Perform accurate data entry into shipping software, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word.
• Maintain real-time inventory records, identifying and reporting any discrepancies immediately.
• Navigate and utilize various shipping software platforms to generate bills of lading and tracking labels.
• Support the broader team during slow periods by assisting with general shop duties and warehouse organization.
• Ensure the shipping and receiving area remains clean, safe, and organized to promote maximum efficiency.

Qualifications
•Proven experience as a Shipper/Receiver or in a similar manufacturing & logistics role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word (testing may be required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Previous experience with inventory control and inspecting incoming goods.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this small-shop environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is a must for tracking inventory and notes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools for packaging and crating.
• Exceptional attention to detail when inspecting shipments and verifying order fulfillment.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal team members.
• Ability to multitask and switch between administrative tasks and physical warehouse work.
• Experience with inventory management systems or specialized shipping software.
