Are you interested in the education of students who are blind, deafblind and/or low vision? Consider bringing your professional expertise to the Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch. Currently there is an exciting career opportunity available on an as required basis at our W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind in Brantford, which serve students who are blind, deafblind and/or low vision in a student lodging school setting at both the elementary and secondary school levels.
Daily rate(s): Daily rate of pay for Supply Teacher – certified is $262.09

· Primary/Junior/Intermediate and/or Senior division qualifications required.
You will:
· Provide individual/group programs of instruction for students who are blind, deafblind and/or low vision;
· Develop Individual Education Plans including curriculum expectations and assessment;
· Provide regular communication to parents regarding school and classroom activities;
· Participate in professional development activities.
What we are looking for:
Qualifications:
· Must be Certified and in Good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT); teacher candidates with a Transitional Certificate or with pending OCT are welcome to apply;
· Teaching Students who are Blind/Low Vision, Specialist & Teaching Students who are Deafblind qualifications, or willingness to work towards obtaining this additional qualification.
· Appropriate subject(s) and division qualifications for the position.
Abilities:
· Ability and proven experience teaching students who are blind and/or low vision in academic programs and/or alternative programs for students identified with multiple exceptionalities.
· Knowledge of and ability to apply curriculum adaptations, methods, and learning materials to support students who are blind and/or low vision.
· Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders, including excellent interpersonal/communication skills and proficient braille skills.
· Ability to effectively manage a classroom and students using a variety of behavioural management techniques.
· Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
