The Shipper plays a key role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and timely preparation and dispatch of outbound shipments to customers and distribution partners. This role is responsible for verifying orders, preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate documentation and system records.
The successful candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment. This role will be cross-trained across both shipping and receiving functions to support operational flexibility and coverage.
This role is based in our Abbotsford location and this role is a fully onsite role.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: $20-22/ Per Hour
Requirements
- Verify customer orders, purchase orders, and outbound materials to ensure shipment accuracy.
- Prepare, package, label, and stage outbound shipments, including small parcel and palletized freight.
- Perform final packaging processes including sealing, wrapping, and palletizing shipments.
- Generate and verify shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and shipment confirmations.
- Route shipments through carrier systems, coordinate pickups, and manage shipment dispatch schedules.
- Accurately finalize shipments within the ERP system and maintain complete records.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and packaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and support loading operations as required.
- Communicate shipment updates with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams.
- Cross-train and provide operational support across both shipping and receiving functions as required.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 1 year of shipping or warehouse experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency using computers, scanners, tablets, and warehouse systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
