About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Laboratory Director, the Point of Care Coordinator will provide administrative, technical, educational, including venipuncture training, coordinate support to ensure effective point of care testing for all areas : monitoring staff compliance to policies / procedures that meet accreditation standards; surveying quality control, proficiency and competency programs. The incumbent will collaborate with Laboratory management to assist in student scheduling.
Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia. A valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Graduate from a School of Medical Laboratory Technology and current registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist with the CSMLS and NSRMLS
- Five (5) years laboratory experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to quality and quality systems
- Familiarity with Meditech and knowledge of the Laboratory component of a HIS for an integrated Laboratory Delivery Network
- Proficient in the use of Windows and Office suite programs, including word processing, electronic data management, powerpoint, spreadsheets and E-mail, etc
- Demonstrated teaching ability with a commitment to staff training and development
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills (written and oral)
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for occasional travel
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
Compensation and Benefits
$38.91 - $49.63 Hourly
