JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior IT Technical Project Analyst.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Projects, this position is responsible to provide end-to-end project governance and coordination for IT/digital initiatives by managing status reporting, RAID/actions, milestone tracking, and financial/resource oversight while translating technical progress into decision-ready updates for business stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support IT/digital project delivery by coordinating day-to-day activities, maintaining momentum, and ensuring work progresses against agreed plans.
  • Coordinate core project governance routines, including meeting cadence, agendas/minutes, decision logging, and follow-up to ensure consistent oversight.
  • Produce clear, timely status reporting for project leadership, summarizing progress, key updates, upcoming milestones, and items requiring decisions.
  • Own and maintain RAID management (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), ensuring items are logged, assigned, tracked, escalated as needed, and closed.
  • Track actions and decisions across project forums, confirming owners and due dates, and driving timely completion through structured follow-up.
  • Monitor milestones and schedule performance, identify variances early, and coordinate corrective actions with workstream leads and stakeholders.
  • Support financial and resource tracking by monitoring spend, forecast, and resourcing/capacity, and flagging variances for leadership review.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate technical information into clear, decision-oriented updates for non-technical audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-Year University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration (with a project management focus).
  • Over 6 years of experience supporting IT/digital project delivery by coordinating day-to-day execution, managing project governance (cadence, agendas/minutes, decision logs), owning RAID and action tracking, monitoring milestones and schedule performance.
  • Proven ability to run project governance processes, including meeting cadence management, agenda/minutes preparation, decision logging, and closure of follow-ups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience producing clear, concise status reports for leadership (progress, milestones, risks, and decision requests).
  • Working knowledge and practical experience maintaining RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), including escalation and driving items to closure.
  • Experience tracking actions, decisions, and milestone performance, identifying variances early, and coordinating corrective actions with workstream leads.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and business stakeholders, translating technical information into decision-oriented updates; experience with basic financial/resource tracking (spend, forecast, capacity) is an asset.

The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.

OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment. If you require accommodation during the selection process, please contact

OPG may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of the applicant screening process. However, applications will also be reviewed by a member of our Recruitment team to ensure a fair and thorough assessment.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods. Maintaining a high-performance culture and excellence is a core expectation of every member of our leadership team and is rewarded through the established compensation framework.

OPG is committed to employment equity. As such, we encourage applicants from equity-seeking communities (Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and women). We strongly believe that alleviating the under-representation of equity-seeking individuals will create a stronger OPG team and allow us to better serve the needs of our diverse communities.

In order to fulfill the above-mentioned purpose, priority in hiring may be given to qualified persons who self-identify as a member of equity-seeking groups as identified in the application process. This initiative constitutes a special program under the Human Rights Code/Canadian Human Rights Act.
