Role Description
Biocon Biologics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmaceutical Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in the ophthalmology and pharmaceutical therapeutic area with a proven track record in territory management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with specialty pharmacies. The role requires excellent business acumen, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. This position involves overnight travel and requires a candidate who is committed to driving sales and growing market share within the designated territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Territory Management : Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan to maximize sales opportunities and achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned territory and accounts.
- Knowledge of the functions, roles and processes in hospitals, specialty pharmacies and healthcare clinics.
- Customer Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders in the healthcare region such as : ophthalmologists, pharmacists, specialty pharmacies, nurses, technicians, drug access navigators, and all others healthcare professionals who impact patients care.
- Sales and Marketing : Promote and sell pharmaceutical products in the ophthalmology therapeutic area, focusing on product benefits, clinical evidence, and competitive advantages in a compliant manner.
- Be familiar with the biosimilar marketplace should there be a need to expand activities beyond the ophthalmology portfolio.
- Collaboration with Specialty Pharmacies : Work closely with specialty pharmacies to support product access, patient education, and reimbursement processes.
- Product Knowledge : Stay current on the latest industry trends, product developments, technologies and competitive landscape in the ophthalmology market to effectively position the company’s products.
- Training and Development : Continuously enhance knowledge of product offerings and sales techniques to drive performance.
- Reporting : Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence within the CRM system. Provide regular reports on sales progress, forecasts, and market trends.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical standards within the pharmaceutical industry.
