We are looking for a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this long-term, part time contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing while offering light accounting support. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic logistics environment with a team of dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities :

• Process payroll for a team of 100 employees, ensuring accuracy in hourly and salaried calculations.
• Prepare and issue T4s, ROEs, and other year-end payroll documents in compliance with regulations.
• Review and verify timesheets for anomalies, including overtime and premium pay discrepancies.
• Maintain and update payroll records using advanced accounting software systems.
• Perform reconciliations and journal entries as part of year-end payroll activities.
• Provide support for payroll reporting and ensure compliance with tax and benefit requirements.
• Assist with light accounting tasks, including accounts reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth payroll operations and address any employee inquiries.
• Stay current on payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Proven experience in payroll processing and accounting functions, preferably in a logistics or similar environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Ceridian, Oracle, and Concur.
• Strong understanding of Canadian payroll regulations, including T4s, ROEs, and year-end reconciliation.
• Familiarity with managing payroll for both salaried and hourly employees, including shift work and averaging agreements.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile data effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and adapt to training from various colleagues.
• Ability / willingness to work on a part time schedule, approximately 24 hours / week
