Position Summary
Reporting to the Methods Engineering Manager, the Methods Engineering Technologist will be accountable for developing and revising the Manufacturing planning documentation to ensure that they properly define how the aircraft assembly, sub-assemblies, and parts are manufactured in accordance with the type design. Research and propose engineering changes. Support Production, Quality, Procurement, and other internal groups to solve relevant technical problems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and update Engineering Masters (EM) and Work Instructions (WI) to define parts, processes, and special instructions for part / assembly production.
- Create Manufacturing Instruction Sheets (MIS), sketches, and other manufacturing documents outlining manufacturing requirements and special instructions for structural, system, and electrical installations on aircraft.
- Specify tools required for manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components.
- Submit Engineering change requests to enhance build quality and efficiency, including Make vs Buy decisions.
- Investigate manufacturing issues, collaborating with teams to analyze cost, impact, and risks of production changes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and audits.
- Assist with Non-Conformance Management tasks and planning for efficiency improvements.
- Provide training to production and assembly personnel on technical skills to support QMS.
