We are looking for an Avionics Engineer to provide technical avionics technical expertise in support of all electronic and electrical designs and systems. within aerospace and defense.
Salary range : $64,000 – $79,000 + 100% employer-paid benefits and RRSP matching program after 3 months
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00am start
Responsibilities :
Locate technical information regarding flight operations, aircraft electronic and electrical systems, and applicable Transport Canada and / or FAA avionics regulations
Develop technical orders (TOs) to direct technical repair activities on a customer’s aircraft, interpreting mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings, producing electrical CAD drawings and following all engineering policies and procedures
Make appropriate modifications to technical applications, designs, specifications and requirements
Provide original and modified avionics and electrical designs for existing aircraft systems and / or designs for new installations
Write and interpret aircraft electrical specifications
Ensure that all modifications are approved by Transport Canada and the FAA
Monitor and direct the use of avionics calibration test equipment, and train technicians in its proper use
Interpret the test equipment needed to perform a given task
Determine where to purchase or rent appropriate test equipment
Be familiar with safety and security policies and procedures and ensure that all workplace behavior complies with these policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications :
Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Avionics Engineering or Technology
3-5 years’ experience in aircraft Electrical / Avionics engineering
Excellent communication skills : verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Engineering principles
Knowledge of project management fundamentals
Knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
Knowledge of Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS II)
Knowledge of digital instruments, digital communications and high-level navigation systems
Must be Canadian residents or permanent residents
