Job description

Future-Forward. Client-Focused.

About Us

Founded in 1974, CMLS Commercial is one of Canada's largest independently owned commercial mortgage services companies, providing financing solutions to real estate owners, developers, institutional investors, and many of the country's leading financial institutions.

Our expertise spans the full commercial mortgage lifecycle—from origination and underwriting to servicing, securitization, mortgage analytics, and market intelligence. Backed by decades of experience and a reputation for innovation, we help clients navigate complex financing opportunities with confidence.

Nesto Group

Nesto Group is Canada's leading provider of mortgage technology and financing solutions, with more than CAD $80 billion in residential and commercial mortgages under administration. Trusted by many of the country's leading financial institutions, we combine over 50 years of mortgage expertise with proprietary cloud and AI technology to transform the future of lending.

Powered by our proprietary cloud and AI technology, nesto has become one of Canada's fastest-growing mortgage lenders, gaining market share across direct-to-consumer (D2C) residential lending, the broker channel, and multi-family commercial lending. Recognized as one of Deloitte's Fast 50 companies for three consecutive years, we continue to push the industry forward through innovation, technology, and customer-focused solutions.

Operating through our family of brands—CMLS, nesto, and Nesto Cloud—our mission is to build Canada's mortgage ecosystem of the future and create a true Canadian champion in lending technology and financial services. Learn more at: https://nestogroup.ca/

Life at CMLS Commercial

At CMLS Commercial, you'll work alongside industry experts on transactions that help shape communities across Canada. Whether you're supporting institutional clients, delivering market insights, or financing landmark developments, you'll be part of a collaborative team where expertise is valued and professional growth is continuous.

Why We Are Hiring

CMLS's commercial servicing portfolio is growing, and we're looking for an Analyst who wants to learn credit and underwriting from the ground up. You'll help manage annual reviews and post-funding credit activity, working alongside a team that's collaborative and invested in helping you build those skills.

Where You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Complete annual reviews of CMHC-insured loans and CMBS mandates, ensuring each assessment meets CMHC's standards and internal quality expectations.
  • Monitor loan covenants and annual financial reporting, proactively assisting in resolving compliance risks, and coordinate critical escalations to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to clarify information, address discrepancies, and support accurate decision-making.
  • Take ownership of assigned loans, continuously develop underwriting expertise, and support the adoption of new tools and technologies, including AI, to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the collection, preparation, and reporting of annual financial information to investors in adherence to timelines.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and handle special projects related to loan compliance and ongoing servicing obligations.

What We Value:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, real estate, business administration, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in commercial real estate, mortgage underwriting, or mortgage funding.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach. You take full accountability for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring every deadline is met without sacrificing quality.
  • A team player who loves sharing knowledge and brainstorming with stakeholders, but possesses the discipline to own your commitments and the ability to deliver results independently.
  • You possess a natural instinct for identifying inconsistencies in complex datasets and the persistence to investigate the "why" behind the numbers.

Why You'll Love Working Here

We believe great people do their best work when they're supported professionally, personally, and financially. That's why we offer a comprehensive rewards package designed to help you thrive at every stage of your career.

  • Competitive Rewards — Competitive compensation, performance incentives (where applicable), and recognition for your contributions.
  • Health & Wellness — Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, Health & Wellness Spending Accounts (where applicable), telemedicine, Employee Assistance Programs, and mental health support for you and your family.
  • Time to Recharge — Generous vacation (4 weeks), floater days, and statutory holidays to help you recharge.
  • Planning for the Future — RRSP matching to support your long-term financial wellbeing.
  • Family Support — Enhanced maternity and parental leave top-up programs.
  • Learning & Growth — Education assistance, mentorship, training, and opportunities to build your career across Nesto Group.
  • Tools for Success — Modern technology, collaborative teams, and the resources you need to do your best work.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At Nesto Group, we believe diverse perspectives make us stronger. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to succeed.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis), persons with disabilities, members of racialized communities, women, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

If you require accommodation during any stage of the recruitment process, we are committed to working with you to meet your needs.
