We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of transforming B.C.'s energy landscape. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

Are you passionate about leading projects that drive energy efficiency and conservation? We are seeking a dynamic leader to provide engineering expertise and leadership in our Conservation & Energy Management (C&EM) team. You will oversee engineering activities, conduct economic and feasibility analyses, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement impactful initiatives that support our business priorities.

As a leader, you will develop a team of skilled engineers, ensuring high-quality results. You will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, requiring effective communication and collaboration skills. Your expertise in energy management and project management will be crucial in delivering projects on time and within budget. Additionally, you will provide regulatory guidance, address technical questions, and support customer escalations and business case development. Join us in making a difference through innovative energy solutions!

In this role, you will :

  • Oversee engineering assessments, feasibility studies, design, permitting, construction, and commissioning of energy efficiency projects ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to manage C&EM initiatives, including Scope of Work documents, cost estimates, schedules, designs, and contracts.
  • Solve complex problems and support company directives through strategic and informed decision-making.
  • Manage multiple projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers to handle complex projects and deliver high-quality results.
  • Act as a technical reference for the team, staying updated on energy management practices and engaging in continuing education.
  • Provide guidance on complex customer inquiries, business case development, change orders, and energy studies.
  • Represent the organization at regulatory and industry meetings and conferences, and provide technical support for customer inquiries, business cases, and energy studies.

What it takes :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution with minimum eight (8) years’ experience in leadership and technical roles.
  • Professional Engineer (EGBC) and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP).
  • Additional assets include CEM designation, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and knowledge of modeling software.
  • Ability to lead in regulated, non-union, and unionized environments, manage competing priorities, and handle demanding schedules.
  • Expertise in project management, critical and strategic thinking, and minimizing corporate risk.
  • Superior communication, public speaking, and confidence in dealing with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems and specialized software.
  • In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
