Job description

The Opportunity

The Inside Business Development Representative, Compact Equipment, plays a critical role in driving revenue and market share growth within one of our highest potential categories. Working closely with the outside sales team and marketing group, this role is at the center of lead management and pipeline development.

As our Inside Business Development Representative, you won’t just be supporting sales, you’ll be driving them. Representing a global Tier 1 manufacturer of compact construction equipment, you will take ownership of inbound opportunities generated through our digital marketing campaigns, convert untapped leads into qualified pipeline, and directly impact revenue growth in a segment with significant upside.

This is a newly created role at Wajax with strong leadership visibility and a clear path to national scale. Success in this position won’t just be recognized, it will help shape future investment, expand the team, and open doors for career advancement.

If you’re energized by the opportunity to build something new, take ownership of results, and play a foundational role in a high-growth strategy, this could be the role for you.

The Role

  • Act as the front line for compact equipment demand generation and lead management
  • Serve as the bridge between Marketing and Outside Sales teams
  • Own and manage all inbound compact equipment leads within a defined territory
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM data to track customer interactions
  • Conduct proactive outbound prospecting and disciplined follow-up
  • Re-engage dormant or lost compact equipment accounts
  • Deliver qualified opportunities to support Outside Sales Representatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in lead management processes and CRM discipline

The Candidate

We are looking for a highly motivated, customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, result-driven team environment.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Experience in inside sales, business development, or lead management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort working with CRM systems and managing data quality
  • Demonstrated ability to qualify leads and generate new opportunities
  • Self-starter with strong time management, accountability, and follow-through
  • Interest or experience in the construction equipment industry is a must!
  • Ambition to grow into an outside sales or broader commercial role
