Job description

With a strong reputation for technical expertise and sustainable design, they are seeking a Structural Engineer to join their growing team.

Compensation & Hours:
• The rate of pay will be based on experience and industry standards
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Occasional overtime required

Position Summary:
• Prepare structural designs, calculations, drawings, and technical specifications for a variety of infrastructure projects
• Conduct structural analysis and assessments for new construction, upgrades, and rehabilitation projects
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and external stakeholders
• Participate in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration activities
• Review drawings and technical documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
• Support construction oversight, field reviews, and project inspections as required
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering and drafting staff
• Assist with client communication, proposal preparation, and project coordination activities

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration within Alberta
• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably within consulting or infrastructure environments
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and applicable Canadian building codes
• Experience working on municipal, industrial, transportation, or water-related infrastructure projects considered an asset
• Proficiency with structural engineering software and technical design tools
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced environment

Bonus Points For:
• Experience with contract administration and construction oversight
• Familiarity with municipal infrastructure and land development projects
• Previous experience working within multidisciplinary consulting environments
• Knowledge of asset management and sustainable infrastructure practices
• Experience mentoring junior technical staff or coordinating project teams
