Job description

Are you a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) eager to specialize in bovine health?

Seize this opportunity to join the trailblazing team at TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods (TAC) - a powerhouse committed to disrupting the status quo with state-of-the-art applications that leverage data to reimagine the way we approach food!

We are not just a team; we are an inspired collective on a relentless mission to establish the most trusted food system worldwide, unraveling transformative insights and optimizing processes from the fields to your plate. At TAC, we are more than just individuals; United in passion and purpose, we collaboratively breathe life into these extraordinary opportunities.

Our team and what we'll accomplish together

We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for our bovine practice, who will join a team made up of bovine practitioners and nutritionists across our multiple locations. You will help transform bovine healthcare as our lead field services RVT. Working across Southern Alberta (Lethbridge/Taber/Brooks), you'll conduct on-farm health programs, lead herd health initiatives, and build strong producer relationships. This role offers increasing autonomy and the opportunity to shape modern cattle health practices.

What you'll do:

As a RVT, you will play an essential role in assisting veterinarians in all aspects of bovine medicine, including feedlot, cow-calf, and dairy productions. Your technical expertise and dedication to animal care will be crucial to the success of our veterinary services and the health of our clients' herds. Our RVTs are a highly valued and integral part of our team. They play a critical role in taking on a variety of essential responsibilities that directly contribute to the quality of care we provide to our patients and the smooth operation of our facility.

  • Work with clients on farms for data recording, processing, and various technical duties.
  • In-clinic duties which include reporting, prescription management, and reception
  • Work on a rotating schedule to dispense medications, medical supplies, and veterinary products in the warehouse facility, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely fulfillment of orders
  • Cow-Calf, Dairy, and Feedlot RVT services
  • Lead your own field service initiatives
  • Utilize cutting-edge diagnostic technology
  • Shape the future of preventative herd health
  • Build lasting producer relationships
  • Enjoy the freedom of field work with the security of a leading organization
  • Champion herd health programs
  • Drive producer education initiatives
  • Implement innovative treatment protocols
  • Mentor future industry leaders
  • Create lasting impact in cattle health

We offer competitive salary, paid ABVMA dues, paid CE, and comprehensive benefits including a pension. Enjoy flexible scheduling while working with cutting-edge veterinary technology. Join a dynamic team where your expertise directly impacts agricultural healthcare, backed by the stability of TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods.

What you bring:

  • Education: Degree or Diploma from an accredited Animal Health Technology college program
  • RVT licensure with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association.
  • Strong communication and proactive problem solving skills
  • Passion for bovine medicine
  • Clean and valid full Class 5 Driver's License or other provincial equivalents, a driver's abstract will be needed
