Job description
Our client, is seeking a highly skilled, delivery-focused Software Developer IV — Android (Kotlin) to join their specialized Mobile Technology and Core Transaction Systems (CTS) organization.

In this senior technical leadership role, you will serve as a lead developer and central delivery authority responsible for architecting, designing, and shipping robust, native Android applications for a high-volume mobile banking platform. You will translate abstract business requirements into high-fidelity technical designs, drive the creation of System Design Specifications (SDS), and lead an engineering squad through the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This position demands a hands-on developer who pairs deep platform-specific knowledge with the mentoring and coordination capabilities required to align distributed teams, conduct rigorous code reviews, and deliver secure, top-tier mobile solutions.

Duration: 3-Month Contract (August 10, 2026 to December 11, 2026; High potential for extension and permanent conversion based on performance)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Core Business Hours

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Currently 2 days per week on-site with Thursday as a mandatory anchor day and 1 flexible day; expected to transition to 4 days per week on-site eventually).

Advantages
High Extension & Conversion Viability: Establish a critical footprint within a major financial institution offering a direct pathway to multi-quarter extensions or permanent transition.

Massive Technical Scale: Own and optimize user-facing application architectures that serve millions of active retail banking clients daily.

Modern Android Sandbox: Lead with cutting-edge mobile technologies, utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Compose libraries in an enterprise-scale codebase.

Leadership & Coaching Mandate: Expand your professional profile by acting as the prime technical contact, influencing solution designs, and mentoring a talented group of onshore and offshore developers.

Responsibilities
Technical Design, Architecture & Coding
Native Development & Architecture: Design, code, and optimize highly secure, native Android application layers using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

Design Specification Ownership: Partner with Solutions Architects to drive the creation of comprehensive, end-to-end System Design Specifications (SDS) and guide Business Analysts in translating System Requirements Specifications (SRS) into functional software.

Design Pattern Governance: Implement and enforce clean architecture principles, leveraging modern software design patterns such as MVC, MVP, and MVVM.

Quality & Code Reviews: Conduct thorough peer code reviews to ensure maximum code reusability, testability, security, and compliance with institutional standards.

Delivery Management, Testing & Support
Technical Mentorship: Act as the primary point of contact for project teams, business units, and external vendors; provide technical direction, coaching, and alignment to squad developers.

Automated Quality Assurance: Author robust unit and UI automation tests to guarantee codebase stability before delivery, employing modern testing frameworks.

Incident Triage: Provide advanced tier-3 technical support for escalated production incidents and outages to ensure quick resolution with minimal business impact.

Deployment Planning: Contribute directly to the Application Deployment Plan, managing your own workload across multiple concurrent projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of direct, hands-on professional experience in native mobile application development, with at least 3+ years of dedicated Kotlin development on the Android platform.

UI Framework Mastery: Direct, proven production experience leveraging Jetpack Compose libraries to build fluid, responsive user interfaces.

Android IDE & Tooling Fluency: Deep hands-on experience utilizing standard development tools including Android Studio, Gradle, Emulators, and command-line interfaces.

Architectural Pattern Depth: Strong working knowledge of clean architecture patterns, specifically including MVC, MVP, and MVVM structures.

Automated Testing Acuity: Demonstrated experience designing and executing automated tests using JUnit alongside platform-specific simulation tools like Robolectric and Espresso.

Soft Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; a highly organized, self-motivated team player with proven analytical problem-solving abilities and the capacity to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Prior professional mobile engineering experience operating within the Financial Services or Banking industry.

Hands-on familiarity with performance monitoring, code quality, and telemetry platforms such as Dynatrace, SonarQube, or Crashlytics.

Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring technical team members in a distributed onshore/offshore delivery model.

Summary
If you are a tech-savvy Software Developer IV who pairs an absolute command of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android testing frameworks with the leadership presence required to guide development squads and design enterprise-grade mobile banking solutions, this hybrid contract is an exceptional professional platform. Bring your architectural precision, problem-solving drive, and collaborative mindset to our world-class mobile engineering team today!
