The Manager, IT and Security Operations, is responsible for the operational planning, continuous improvement and implementation of network services, cloud services, service desk, cyber security operations, facilities, and business applications support within the Digital and Data Services (DDS) division. This role ensures that departmental systems, data, and services are secure, resilient, and aligned with Government of Canada policies, including enterprise cyber security strategies and risk‑management frameworks.
What you’ll be doing
- Reviews IT operations requirements to identify solutions and make recommendations to the Director, Digital and Data Solutions relating to the prioritization of new projects and services plus enhancements
- Ensures compliance with federal policies, directives, and frameworks, including Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) security requirements
- Supports departmental audits and assessments related to cyber security, including action‑plan development and monitoring
- Responsible for Cyber Security operations. Leads cyber threat monitoring, vulnerability management, and security operations activities, collaborating with the Cyber Centre for threat intelligence, guidance, and escalation where required
- Develops IT and cyber security roadmaps aligned with federal modernization agendas, digital government strategies, and departmental priorities
- Oversees cyber security training, awareness, and role‑based education to strengthen organizational cyber maturity. Addresses training gaps identified through audits and internal assessment
- Leads acquisition and deployment of technologies
- Implements IT business plans reflective of lifecycle replacement principles and technological developments, to maintain network services with minimal or no unplanned downtime
What you’ll bring to CCC
- Completion of undergraduate degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT and/or Cyber Security operations
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in leadership and management practices including operational planning, performance, project, and change management
- Knowledge, skills, and experience in operational management of IT and Cyber Security professionals, operational planning, project, change and risk management
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
- Bilingualism imperative (CBC)
