About the Role:

We have a current opening for a Senior Raw Materials Planner and are actively reviewing applications.

Reporting to the Plant Operating Planning Manager, this role is responsible for managing the end-to-end supply of raw materials to support the plant’s production plan.

The position combines planning ownership with hands-on execution. It requires someone who can set direction, manage supply risks, and make decisions, while still being close enough to the day-to-day operation to ensure everything runs smoothly.

This role also supports cocoa production planning and manages transitory flows between Ferrero plants. In addition, it includes direct line management responsibility for a raw materials planner.

Main Responsibilities:

Raw Material Planning & Delivery
Own raw material supply plan to meet production needs
Convert production forecasts into procurement and delivery plans
Manage supplier schedules, inbound logistics, and material flow adjustments
Maintain inventory parameters aligned to service, lead time, and targets
Monitor risks, constraints, and KPIs; resolve issues to prevent disruptions

Inventory Management
Ensure raw material inventory health aligns with plant KPIs
Adjust inventory strategies based on demand, supplier performance, and operations
Investigate discrepancies, stockouts, and drive corrective actions
Partner with Production and Controlling to manage bulk materials and consumption trends

Supplier & Procurement Coordination
Act as primary planning contact for suppliers and Procurement
Maintain accurate forecasts and proactively manage supply flow
Ensure execution of scheduling agreements and inbound processes
Build strong supplier relationships to support reliable supply

Warehouse Alignment
Align inbound deliveries with warehouse capacity and priorities
Ensure PO and scheduling accuracy for receiving readiness
Provide visibility into inbound risks and support capacity planning

Quality & Food Safety
Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards
Monitor material freshness and manage aging risks
Lead deviation management, including follow-up and documentation

Leadership & Decision-Making
Balance service, inventory, and cost in planning decisions
Develop and guide Raw Materials Planner for strong execution
Identify and mitigate supply risks; manage constraints and disruptions
Collaborate cross-functionally to align priorities and resolve issues
Represent planning in plant and IBP/S&OP forums
Lead inventory optimization, planning improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You:

• Postsecondary education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required; advanced education is considered a strong asset.
• Strong experience in raw material planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and make timely decisions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, and Supply Planning teams.
• Proven ability to manage changing priorities, supply constraints, and operational challenges while maintaining service levels.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate risks and planning impacts.
• Experience leading or supporting others, with the ability to coach, prioritize, and drive accountability.
• Proficiency with SAP, ERP/MRP systems, Excel, and data-driven planning tools.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, challenge existing processes, and implement practical solutions.
