We’re growing and looking for a detail-oriented HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our St. Catharines team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the HR & Payroll Coordinator makes sure our employees are paid accurately and on time, keeps our records organized and compliant, and is a friendly, trusted resource for staff with questions about pay, benefits, and HR.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff, including overtime, commissions, and deductions
• Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, changes in status, and benefits enrollment
• Ensure payroll compliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act,2000 and federal payroll requirements, including CRA source deductions, remittances, and tax filings
• Administer group benefits, RRSP contributions, and other employee programs
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and HR policies
• Support recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, and onboarding new hires
• Maintain and update HR policies, the employee handbook, and personnel files
• Track vacation, ESA leaves, and other time-off balances
• Prepare payroll and HR reports for management and assist with year-end T4 processing
• Assist with performance review coordination and employee relations matters

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2+ years of payroll and/or HR administration experience; retail experience is an asset
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 and payroll legislation
• Experience with payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ceridian, Payworks) and high proficiency in Excel
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification, or working toward it, is an asset
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
