About the Opportunity
Our client, a highly regarded full-service business law firm, is seeking an experienced Banking & Lending Paralegal to join its Vancouver office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join a top-tier banking and debt financing practice, working alongside a collaborative team on a sophisticated and varied portfolio of transactions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financing files from start to finish, while contributing to a supportive and team-oriented environment with strong operational structure and coverage.

The Role
Reporting to the banking and finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high volume of lending transactions and supporting lawyers on complex financing matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing governing facility letters
  • Conducting and reviewing due diligence searches
  • Drafting correspondence to borrower’s counsel and other stakeholders
  • Preparing, reviewing, and finalizing loan and security documentation
  • Attending to registrations and security filings
  • Reviewing executed documents and identifying deficiencies
  • Conducting post-registration searches
  • Drafting payout letters and coordinating closing and funding
  • Finalizing reporting letters, opinions, and ancillary documents
  • Following up on outstanding deficiencies and closing matters
  • Managing final reporting and file completion

Qualifications & Experience
  • Paralegal certificate or diploma from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in banking and lending within a law firm environment
  • Proven ability to independently manage a high volume of transactions
  • Strong understanding of lending and secured financing processes
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
