Job description
Innovative Driven is currently seeking a Senior Solicitor to join the team at an established, well-respected, and busy law firm client, based in Langley, British Columbia! The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of post-call business and real estate law experience. This is a fulltime and onsite position at the law firm's office in Langley, British Columbia! The firm prides itself on its community-based roots, and on building long-standing client relationships! The business law practice is experiencing rapid growth, so they are looking to add an energetic and dedicated lawyer to the team. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Handling both real estate and business law transactions - Facilitate incorporations (both provincial and federal), amalgamations, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements and commercial contracts - Advise on corporate governance and compliance under applicable legislation (e.g., Business Corporations Acts) - Negotiate and manage mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and asset/share purchases - Handle residential and commercial real estate transactions - Facilitate commercial leasing and lending and property matters - Mentor associates and staff and share knowledge - Oversee corporate services and conveyance department in conjunction with management - Build and maintain strong client relationships - Contribute to client development and community engagement REQUIREMENTS: - Member in good standing with the Law Society of BC - Minimum of 5 years of post-call experience - Demonstrated expertise in business law and real estate law - Experience managing files independently from intake to closing - Strong drafting and negotiation skills - Proven ability to mentor associates and staff - Working knowledge of Canadian tax implications related to estate and corporate planning The firm offers a fabulous overall compensation package, which includes a strong base salary, reasonable billable hour expectations, benefits, and the opportunity to earn a strong percentage of the earned billables.
