Job Summary
We are looking for a highly organized Logistics & Operations Coordinator to support inbound and outbound transportation, inventory transfers, customs compliance, and fleet operations. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing carrier performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate logistics data within internal systems.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics Coordination

Secure transportation for all inbound purchases and inter-company transfers (ground and ocean).

Evaluate and assign the most cost-effective transportation modes (FTL/LTL).

Track inbound shipments and communicate any delays to the purchasing team.

Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with internal teams and external partners.

Monitor carrier performance and service levels.

Update freight and shipment information in the system including:

Pickup date and time
-
Delivery date and time
-
Shipment status
-
Freight costs
-

Review and approve accessorial charges when applicable.
Outbound Logistics Coordination

Arrange ground transportation for outbound customer orders.

Determine the most cost-effective shipping methods.

Track deliveries and communicate any delays to the sales or customer service teams.

Coordinate pickup and delivery scheduling with warehouses and carriers.
-
Monitor carrier performance and resolve transportation issues.
-
Maintain accurate freight data including shipment dates, status, and costs.
-
Verify and approve additional shipping charges when necessary.
Inventory Transfer & Warehouse Coordination

Manage inter-company inventory transfers and requests.
-
Build transfer orders based on operational priorities.

Ensure transfers meet pallet and shipment requirements.

Optimize shipments by utilizing available pallet space where possible.

Monitor backorders and prioritize inventory for upcoming transfers.

Provide warehouse teams with pick tickets and scheduled pick times.

Coordinate with logistics teams to schedule trucks for transfers.

Update destination and delivery schedules in the system.
Customs & Compliance

Manage customs documentation and regulatory requirements for international shipments.

Ensure compliance with import/export regulations.

Review duties, tariffs, and customs documentation for accuracy.

Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure smooth cross-border shipments.

Perform additional compliance tasks as required.
Fleet Management & Safety Compliance

Oversee company vehicles, drivers, and transportation assets.

Monitor operational performance and transportation costs.

Ensure compliance with transportation safety regulations.

Coordinate vehicle maintenance and equipment servicing.

Assign work to drivers and manage driver schedules.

Identify transportation opportunities to maximize fleet utilization.
Administrative & Operational Support

Assist with logistics documentation, reporting, and operational analysis.
