Role Overview
The Department of Health is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Digital Assets to support the Symbio Provincial Clinical Information Solution (CIS) Program. This role will lead large-scale digital health initiatives focused on integrating and optimizing provincial digital assets within a unified electronic health ecosystem.
The Project Manager will oversee end-to-end project delivery—from initiation through go-live and post-implementation—ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, stakeholder expectations, and provincial healthcare transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-million-dollar digital health projects within a Canadian healthcare environment, ensuring successful delivery aligned with program objectives. (M2, M4)
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project management documentation, including:
- Project plans, schedules, and roadmaps
- RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Status reports and decision records (M3)
- Drive integration of digital health assets into the Clinical Information System (CIS), including planning, execution, and testing cycles. (S2, S4)
- Build and manage detailed project plans incorporating:
- Dependencies
- Resource allocation
- Dynamic scheduling (S1)
- Lead solution integration and testing cycles, ensuring quality and compliance with healthcare standards. (S2)
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including:
- Government bodies
- Healthcare organizations
- Vendors and delivery partners (S3)
- Ensure effective risk management, issue resolution, and escalation processes are followed.
- Provide leadership across project lifecycle phases, including planning, execution, monitoring, and post go-live support.
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, including training and adoption support. (S5, S7)
- Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks and documentation standards.
- Utilize tools such as JIRA, MS Project, and Office 365 suite for tracking and reporting. (S8)
Mandatory Qualifications (M1–M6)
- Post-secondary education in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Information Management, Business/Public Administration, OR equivalent experience. (M1)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading large-scale digital health initiatives in a Canadian healthcare setting. (M2)
- At least 5+ years of experience in project documentation and governance, including reporting, scheduling, and risk management. (M3)
- Minimum 7+ years of experience working within Canadian healthcare environments. (M4)
- Availability to start as per project timelines. (M5)
- Compliance with submission constraints (max 2 candidates per vendor). (M6)
Desired Skills & Experience (S1–S9)
- Proven experience managing digital health projects in acute care environments, including detailed planning and execution. (S1)
- Minimum 3+ years leading system integration and testing initiatives in healthcare IT. (S2)
- Strong experience managing relationships with vendors, government, and hospital stakeholders. (S3)
- Hands-on experience with healthcare IT systems and data standards such as HL7, FHIR. (S4)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong leadership and communication skills. (S5)
- Experience working with New Brunswick Regional Health Authorities (RHA) is highly preferred. (S6)
- Bilingual (English & French) communication skills (written and verbal). (S7)
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office 365
- JIRA / Atlassian tools
- Zoom and collaboration platforms (S8)
- Certification such as:
- PMP
- CAPM
- PMI-ACP
- PRINCE2 or equivalent (S9)
Deliverables
- Maintain all project artifacts and documentation
- Ensure alignment with governance and reporting structures
- Lead risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies
- Deliver timely status reporting and stakeholder updates
- Support training, adoption, and change management activities
Work Environment & Additional Info
- Remote role with mandatory monthly travel to New Brunswick
- Occasional after-hours/weekend work may be required
