Job description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Business Analyst to support a large-scale healthcare transformation project focused on the consolidation of hospital information systems into a unified Clinical Information Solution (CIS). This role will play a critical part in the development of province-wide clinical standards, including standard order sets, documentation templates, and clinical workflows used by physicians, nurses, and other frontline care providers. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts and clinical stakeholders to gather business requirements, conduct gap analyses, facilitate engagement sessions, and create detailed documentation to support the adoption of new standards. Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience in clinical informatics and business analysis within Health Information Systems (EHR / CIS), with demonstrated expertise in healthcare operations and the implementation of clinical solutions. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple project streams, and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and JIRA are essential. Bilingual communication skills in French and English are considered a strong asset.

  • 24 month contract to start

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with clinical experts and stakeholders to gather business and system requirements related to clinical documentation, order sets, and workflows.
  • Conducting gap analyses between current and future state clinical processes.
  • Designing and facilitating engagement sessions (e.g., workshops) to validate requirements and gather new input from healthcare providers.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed documentation such as process maps, workflows, use cases, user guides, training materials, and other supporting content.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on how Clinical Information Solutions (CIS) and digital processes impact clinical content, workflows, and procedures.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of standardized clinical practices across multiple healthcare settings.
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of project objectives.
  • Ensuring alignment between business needs and IT solutions.
  • Providing input and support during implementation, including communication planning and change management activities.
  • Working independently and across multiple project streams or initiatives, as needed.
  • Occasionally working outside standard business hours, with prior approval.
  • Qualifications

    Mandatory Requirements

  • University Degree in either Healthcare, Business Administration or Information Technology or equivalent combination of applicable education and experience.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience as a Clinical Business Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst (or equivalent) responsible for requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation obtained in the last 10 years.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience working with Health Information Systems (EHR / CIS), and healthcare operations.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst in health information systems / CIS implementation projects. With direct experience working in healthcare operations Health Information Systems (EHR / CIS), building or implementing a similar scale project.
  • Scored Requirements

  • 6+ years demonstrated experience as a Clinical Business Analyst responsible for requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation in one or more of the following : computerized provider order entry (CPOE), order sets, clinical documentation, ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory).
  • Verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills in French and English is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years facilitation skills : demonstrated experience in leading workshops with healthcare providers to identify and articulate business requirements, system requirements, and develop user stories or use cases.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience working with a high level of self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently engage and collaborate with project team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • 5+ years demonstrated ability to multi-task, work with multiple teams supporting more than one project stream / activity at a time.
  • 5+ years knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams) in the work environment.
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience and knowledge of using Atlassian’s JIRA software in a Project / work environment.
  • Previous experience working within public health authorities, showcasing a strong understanding of the public healthcare landscape, policies, and practices.
