We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our client’s team as a Controller in Welland, ON!
In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll help our client with their Accounting and Finance needs.
What You’ll Do:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory costing, and general ledger management.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Develop, implement, and monitor budgeting and forecasting processes.
Analyze financial data to inform business decisions regarding planning, equipment investment, energy usage, and sustainability initiatives.
Manage internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and certifications (e.g., food safety, organic certification, environmental sustainability).
Supervise staff involved in accounting and finance functions.
Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and consultants.
Support grant applications and funding opportunities by preparing financial documentation.
Lead cost analysis and track metrics related to crop yield, labor, and utility consumption.
Oversee financial aspects of capital improvement projects, technology upgrades, and farm expansions.
Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to align financial performance with production goals.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance; previous experience in controlled environment agriculture, manufacturing, or food production a plus.
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Passion for sustainability, technology, and innovative agriculture.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Compensation:

Salary of $80,000-$100,000
