• Extension of LTO Assignment into Semester 2    Where an LTO is in a Semester 1 Assignment behind a contract teacher, the Employer may extend the LTO into Semester 2 behind the same contract teacher provided that they meet ALL of the following criteria : (a)The original LTO assignment was posted and the employee was the successful applicant; (b) The employee would be replacing the same absent contract teacher; (c)The employee has the appropriate OCT qualifications, as determined by the Employer, for the semester 2 sections assigned to the absent contract teacher; d) The extension would not increase their status; e) The Employer does not have documented performance concerns and there are no current concerns of a disciplinary nature respecting the employee; and f) the LTO has agreed to the extension. Teachers can teach a maximum of three (3) classes within a semester, which equals 100%. For those working at IB sites or Alternate sites, a teacher can teach a maximum of six (6) classes across the school year, which equals 100%.
